Can I take the catalytic converters off my 03' F-150?

I have a 2003 F-150 with the 5.4L Triton. I put a single in dual out super 44 but its just not loud enough.... I have 1 catalytic converter and a resonator on each side of the Y pipe (2 cats and 2 resonators all together). I was gonna cut the cats off but there is an O2 sensor in front of and behind each set of cats and resonators. So I didn't do so because i didn't want my truck to throw a check engine light. Other than buying high flow cats as we all know they are expensive is there any way around this problem? Someone told me that they have O2 sensors which they use on mustangs where as when you cut the cats off you replace the stock sensors with those? But i wasn't really sure what they were talking about.... Also I have the option of gutting the cats but not sure how that works
