Can someone give me a general description/plot line of HMS Pinafore?

For my voice recital, I am going to be singing Sorry Her Lot Who Loves Too Well and my voice instructor igned me the task of finding background on the musical and the meaning of this song. I have looked all over the internet and not found anything. If anyone could give me information about this musical/song or a descriptive website that would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
